Dear Felipe,
thanks for your help!
estout works beautifully (I need it for word, so I did not try the other
commands). The only thing I have not figured out is how to make it into a
table format (as opposed to columns separated by spaces).

For anybody interested, here is the command I use after saving the
estimates as mlogit1:

estout mlogit1 using mlogitout,  replace eform c(b(star fmt(%9.3f)) se(par
fmt(%9.3f))) sty(fixed) s(ll chi2 N) label legend varlabel(_cons Constant)
unstack posthead("") prefoot("") postfoot("").
