It is much more likely that Paul is just
seeing side-effects of caching. Behind
his email address Paul is based in Newham,
London and quite possibly accessing StataCorp
through what is called Janet (Joint Academic
something) or some other arrangement. Janet
caches viciously and a side-effect is that
its users cannot always "see" immediately
up-to-date versions of files through layers
of cybermurk.

Again, it seems really peculiar that it tells you (and not me) the
latest available exe is 15 Sep 2005. Maybe Stata has multiple
servers and the one you are reaching has a problem with it???
