Stata has the log of the factorial. type help lnfact(). In Stata 9, MATA also has factorial functions. You could have found this out on your own using search.

Subject: st: function to calculate factorial

Simple question really - what (if at all) is the function in Stata 9 to calculate the factorial of a number(n), i.e the equivalent of FACT(n) in Excel. I cannot seem to find it in the FAQ ('calculate factorial') or Stata help ('help factorial').

Sorry to appear so dim.

Dave
