Thanks to Prof. Baum, a new Stata command is available from
the SSC
 archives:

-descogini- A Stata module to perform Gini decomposition by
income source.

 Description:
This command decomposes the Gini coefficient by income
source using the approach described in Lerman and Yitzhaki
(1985) and in Stark, Taylor and Yitzhaki (1986). This
approach allows the calculation of the impact that a
marginal change in a particular income source will have on
inequality.
It is an alternative to -ineqdeco- and -ginidesc- that
decomposes inequality by subgroups.

To install the package, type:
    .ssc install descogini

A document with a brief description of the theory behind
this module and of how the results can be interpreted will
be available shortly from the author upon request.

If you have any questions or problems with the program
please let me know.
