Dear Eric:
your message was encouraging. I decided to give a try and it seems that there is no problem with the accents of my name and of my institution and city.

My name is Jos Maria, but no problem in writing Jose Maria.

Oh, please don't do that. We'd end up losing out on little, and largely subconscious, language & cultural lessons & eventually some of us will end up writing Sao Paulo & think we're doing so correctly. So many names --mine fortunately is not one of them-- have been corrupted & bastardized here in the United States simply because some of us, or our forbears, were unwilling to make the effort to preserve the correct spelling.
