st: factor analysis w/ categorical vars. in STATA

Dear Statalist people,

I used a Principal Components Analyses with STATA to construct a wealth index. I know I can't use categorical variables with this method, and I am wondering if STATA has a way to handle factor analysis with categorical variables?

I'd appreciate any help!
