You don't know how your outcome and covariates are related? Don't worry. You don't have to force your data into a linear model, logistic model, Poisson model, or any other model that depends on the functional form of the relationship between the outcome and covariates. Nonparametric regression does not depend on knowing the functional form.
Join Enrique Pinzon, Senior Econometrician, as he introduces nonparametric estimation and demonstrates how to fit nonparametric regression models using Stata 15's new npregress command. But he will not stop with estimation. And he will show you why you will not want to stop there either. After nonparametric regression, or any regression, you want to ask questions based on the results. What would happen if everyone's salaries increased by 10 percent? What would happen if everyone in the population received a treatment? If no one received the treatment? What is the difference between the two—the treatment effect? Enrique will demonstrate how to answer these types of questions and many others by using margins after npregress.
