Public training FAQ

  1. What is the course schedule and format?
    All Stata public training courses begin at 8:30 AM and run to approximately 4:30 PM each day with a one-hour break for lunch. We provide a continental breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Breakfast is available before the course begins, and lunch is served between 11:45 and Noon.

    Stata public training is designed to be interactive, so we provide computers with Stata installed at all sessions. You are welcome to bring your own laptop with the current version of Stata installed, but we cannot guarantee access to an electrical outlet. WiFi is available at most course facilities.
  2. What will my course cover?
    The course outline for each Stata public training course is conveniently listed on our website. Simply choose your course from those listed at stata.com/training/public.
  3. What will I receive before the course?
    You should receive a course confirmation email within two business days of submitting your registration. The course confirmation email is separate from the automatic order confirmation email. If you do not receive the course confirmation email, please contact Stata at 800-782-8272 or training@stata.com.

    You will receive your lecture materials once you arrive at the course.
  4. What should I bring to the course?
    We recommend that you bring a USB flash drive; this is the safest and simplest way to save your work from the session. Please also bring a valid photo ID for admittance to the course.
  5. Where is my course held? Do you have any hotel recommendations?
    Please refer to your course confirmation email. This email includes a link to the facility, complete with directions, transportation tips, and hotel recommendations. If you need this email sent to you again, please contact Stata at 800-782-8272 or training@stata.com.
  6. Do you offer course discounts?
    We offer a 15% discount for group enrollments of three or more participants. Please contact Stata at 800-782-8272 or training@stata.com to register your group.
  7. I don't have my payment ready. Can I still reserve a place in the course?
    We do not accept course registrations without payment. You may pay by credit card, check, wire transfer, or purchase order.
  8. How do I cancel my enrollment?
    To cancel your enrollment, please contact Stata at 800-782-8272 or training@stata.com. Registrants who cancel more than 14 days prior to the first day of the course will incur no additional fees. Registrants who cancel between 8 and 14 days prior to the first day of the course are subject to a service charge of 30% of the course fee. Registrants who cancel 7 days or fewer prior to the first day of the course are subject to a service charge of 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be given on or after the day the course begins.
  9. Can I transfer to another course?
    To transfer to another course, please contact Stata at 800-782-8272 or training@stata.com. Registrants who transfer to another course more than 14 days prior to the first day of the original course will incur no additional fees. Registrants who transfer to another course between 8 and 14 days prior to the first day of the original course are subject to a service charge of 30% of the original course fee. Registrants who transfer to another course 7 days or fewer prior to the first day of the original course are subject to a service charge of 50% of the original course fee. No refunds will be given on or after the day the original course begins.
  10. Can I transfer my enrollment to my colleague?
    Yes, please contact Stata at 800-782-8272 or training@stata.com.
  11. Is there a dress code?
    No, though many participants dress in business casual.
  12. Will I receive a completion letter?
    You may request a completion letter from your instructor or by contacting Stata at 800-782-8272 or training@stata.com.
