Stata 8 for Mac is a PowerPC application that requires a PowerPC Mac
running Mac OS X 10.1 or newer. Stata 8 should not be run on Intel Macs
because Mac OS X runs PowerPC applications under emulation on Intel
Macs and will produce incorrect results. Stata 9 or newer is required for
Intel Macs.
