Stata 7: Will Stata 7 for Mac run natively in OS X?

Title   Stata 7: Availability of Stata for OS X
Author Chinh Nguyen, StataCorp
Date April 2001; updated November 2010

Stata 7 for Mac is now a single application that will run natively on PowerPC Macs in Mac OS 8.6/9.x and OS X. Current owners of Stata 7 for Mac who do not have the OS X–compatible version may upgrade using Stata’s update facility at no charge.

Stata 7 should not be run on Intel Macs because Mac OS X runs PowerPC applications under emulation on Intel Macs and will produce incorrect results. Stata 9 or newer is required for Intel Macs.
