Adding user-written commands to Stata
Many resources are available, including new commands and procedures, to
enhance Stata. You can access some of these from a web browser but many
more from within Stata itself.
You can access four main types of resources through Stata:
The quickest way to access these resources is to type search
keywords, all at the command prompt. You can also click on
Help > Search from Stata’s toolbar and enter the
keywords in the dialog box. (See
example.) You will get back a list
of all official commands, user-written commands, FAQs, and Stata
Journal articles that match your search criteria. From there, you can
click on any search result to find out more.
Once you’ve found a program of interest, you can learn more about it
by clicking on its accompanying help files. (See
example.)
