(These are the installation instructions for Windows and Macintosh.  If you
have Unix, ignore this file; see [U] 20.8 How do I install STB updates?.)



TO INSTALL THE STATA RELEASE 6.0 SUPPORT MATERIALS  (if you have Stata 6.0)

To install:

        - insert the official updates diskette
        - pull down Help
        - select Official Updates
        - click on "diskette"

        What to do next should be obvious but, in case it is not, see

            Chapter 20 Updating Stata

        in the Getting Started Manual.

From inside Stata, you can then type 'help whatsnew' for information on 
the new commands.



TO INSTALL SPECIFIC USER-WRITTEN STB MATERIALS  (optionally do this)

        - insert the user-written materials diskette
        - pull down Help
        - select STB and User-written Programs
        - click on "diskette"

        What to do next should be obvious but, in case it is not, see

            Chapter 20 Updating Stata

        in the Getting Started Manual.
