.- help for ^pwcorrs^ [STB-49 sg64.1] .- Correlations of variables ------------------------- ^pwcorrs^ [varlist] [if exp] [in range] [weight] [, ^o^bs ^sig^ ^p^rint(#) ^st^ar(#) ^b^onferroni ^sid^ak ^p^rint(#) ^a^bove(#) ^v^ars(#) ^sor^t ^cwd^eletion ^sp^earman ^se^lect(list)] Description ----------- ^pwcorrs^ displays the Pearson or Spearman rank correlation matrix for varlist or, if ^vars^ was not specified, for all the variables in the dataset. The default calculation of individual correlation coefficients is made independently and thus the matrix contains the pairwise coefficients. Optionally, pairwise deletion can be requested. The sample n and a test of independence are reported as an option. String variables are omitted from the analytic processing. Duplicate variables specified in varlist are removed before processing. A specific subset of variables can be selected for processing and displayed using the select option. Options used with ^pwcorrs^ ------------------------- ^spearman^ specifies Spearman correlations. The default is to perform Pearson correlations. ^obs^ adds a line to each row of the matrix reporting the number of observations used in calculating the correlation coefficient. ^sig^ adds a line to each row of the matrix reporting the significance level of each correlation coefficient. ^print(#)^ specifies the significance level of correlation coefficients to be printed. Coefficients with larger significance levels are left blank. ^print(10)^ or ^print(.1)^ would list only coefficients significant at the 10% level or better. ^star(#)^ specifies the significance level of coefficients to be starred. ^star(5)^ or ^star(.05)^ would star all coefficients significant at the 5% level or better. ^bonferroni^ makes the Bonferroni adjustment to calculated significance levels. This affects printed significance levels and the ^print()^ and ^star()^ options. "^pwcorr2, print(.05) bonferroni^" prints coefficients with Bonferroni-adjusted significance levels of .05 or less. ^sidak^ makes the Sidak adjustment to calculated significance levels. This affects printed significance levels and the ^print()^ and ^star()^ options. "^pwcorr2, print(.05) sidak^" prints coefficients with Sidak- adjusted significance levels of .05 or less. ^vars(#)^ specifies that on the first # variables on the varlist are to be correlated with the the variables on the varlist. This produces # columns of correlations rather than a correlation matrix. From 1 to 6 vars may be specified. ^select(list)^ selects the number or letters of the alphabet to be included in the analyses. A range can be selected as well, e.g., (a f s-w _ 3). ^sort^ requests the varlist be reported in sorted order. If ^vars(#)^ is specified the first ^vars(#)^ will not be sorted. ^above(#)^ specifies the minimum level of correlation coefficients to be printed. Coefficients with smaller coefficients are left blank. above(.5) would list only coefficients of 0.5 or greater. ^cwdeletion^ removes observations with missing values for the varlist from the calculations.
