(These are the installation instructions for DOS.  If you have Unix, ignore
this file; see [7] stb_unix.)



TO INSTALL THE CRC RELEASE 4.0 SUPPORT MATERIALS  (if you have Stata 4.0)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The \CRC directory on this diskette contains the CRC support materials.
To install:

	> crclib -i -r a:\crc\newado \stata\ado

From inside Stata, you can then type 'help whatsnew' for information on 
the new commands.  TYPING "-i -r" IN LOWERCASE IS IMPORTANT.



TO INSTALL SPECIFIC STB SUPPORT MATERIALS  (optionally do this)
---------------------------------------------------------------

The STB disk contains directories named with the category code-sequence number
of the corresponding insert printed in the STB.  For instance, materials cor-
responding to insert sqv1 appear in the \sqv1 directory.  The materials cor-
responding to sqv1.1 appear in the \sqv1.1 directory.

Put the diskette in drive A:.  If you are interested in the materials for, say, 
sqv1, type:

	> type a:\sqv1\readme

The README file will instruct you on how to install the materials.  In many
cases, the README file will simply say to follow the standard instructions
in in1.

These are the standard instructions:

Copy the contents of the directory to C:\ADO, not C:\STATA\ADO.  If you do not 
have such a directory, first create it:

	> md c:\ado

Once the directory exists, you can copy the materials:

	> copy a:\sqv1\*.* c:\ado
