Storing variables in vectors and matrices        	      [STB-20: ip6]

	^mkmat^ varlist [^if^ exp ^in^ range, ^mat^rix(matname)]

^mkmat^ loads the specified variables into column vectors (N by 1 matrices)
of the same name.  If the ^mat^rix() option is specified, these column vectors
are also combined in a matrix in the order they are named in the varlist.
