Calculate logarithmic differences                               (STB-18: sg23)

         ^diflogen^ freqvar diflovar

^diflogen^ generates a new variable ^diflovar^ that contains the logarithmic
differences of freqvar.  ^diflogen^ is a convenience command; it produces the
same result as typing 

        ^generate diflovar = log(freqvar[_n+1]) - log(freqvar)

^diflogen^ is useful in applying Bhattacharya's method for estimating Gaussian
components in mixed distributions.  Type ^help bhatado^ for information on
other ado-files used in this method.
