Thanks for this advice, Natalia. I must upgrade Stata on my computers to Version 13.0 and investigate!

Best wishes

Margaret

Hi Margret!

In Stata 13 you have now teffects which allows far more options than
psmatch2. I found the help file a quite useful start point.

Best,
Natalia

Hello

I would value advice on whether the material on performing propensity score
matching using Stata at the link

http://www.biostat.jhsph.edu/~estuart/propensityscoresoftware.html

is up-to-date. I currently have IC Stata Version 13.0 and realise that some
of the content at the above site may be dated.
Also, having read the content at http://arxiv.org/abs/1201.6385 , I have
some reservations about the
loopholes that need to be encountered with SPSS in order to try and get
closest to the real thing in performing propensity score matching.
Therefore, given the provision of more sophisticated modules, I am inclined
to think that Stata may be more fit for purpose. I would value
advice in this area too, however.

More generally, I would welcome advice on suitable resources for
self-directed learning from scratch in the use of Stata for propensity score
matching.

Many thanks in advance

Best wishes

Margaret
