I had the same problem that Ven reported last fall:

The Paste function (Ctrl-V, etc.) did not work. Quite debilitating!
Taking a hint from Sergiy in that thread-that Stata's editing functionality
is built on open software called Scintilla-I found a list of other
"projects" that use Scintilla:
http://www.scintilla.org/ScintillaRelated.html
On that list is MySQL Workbench, which I recently installed. I uninstalled
this and restarted, and the problem went away.
