Dear Statalisters,

I need to identify whether a child is the son/daughter of a woman living in a given household, and I have the following information:

(i)   hhkey - identifies a household in my dataset;
(ii)  line_no - identifies an individual within household;
(iii) mother - equals 0 if a child's mother does not live in the household and equals line_no if the mother of this child lives in the household.

Hence, I have enough information to tell whether a woman is the mother of child living the household. How can I put this information in the mother's line?

Thank you very much for any help.

Dimitri.
