Thanks as always to Kit Baum, a new version of the -xglm- package is now available for download from SSC. In Stata, use the -ssc- command to do this, or -adoupdate- if you already have an old version of -xglm-.

The -xglm- package is described as below on my website, and is an extended version of -glm-. The new version is upgraded to Stata Version 13, so it can take advantage of new features of -glm- introduced in Stata Version 13 (like the -asis- option).

Users of Stata Versions 11 and 12 can still download the old Stata 11 version of -xglm- from my website by typing, in Stata,

net describe xglm, from(http://www.imperial.ac.uk/nhli/r.newson/stata11)

and installing the package.

I would like to thank Kristin MacDonald of Stata TechSupport for her help in explaining the recently-introduced -asis- option of -glm-, when I contacted Stata TechSupport after being astounded to discover that the default policy of -glm- on zero-prevalence factor levels in a logistic regression had changed. I had always previously used -glm- because (unlike -logit-) it allowed me to estimate zero odds for a factor level in a model, if these zero odds existed. I now know that, if I want to do that in today's Stata, I must use the -asis- option from now on.

Best wishes

Roger
