Looking back at your first post:

You are trying to use the local macros tf1 tf2 ... before they are
defined by the -tempfile- command. That won't work. You may just need
something like

local Nkomb 8
forvalues  i = 1/`Nkomb'  {
       tempfile tf`i'
       local files `files'  `tf`i''
}
