Adrian,

How frustrating!

Are you using Stata's built-in editor?

If not, your text editor probably did save a temporary file somewhere,
although the location and file name will vary by editor and operating
system.

If so, I think you are out of luck. If it's any consolation, there is an
option in Stata's settings to automatically save the do-file each time
before it runs. You might want to turn that option on for future work.

Either way, if you have any log files, you may be able to piece together
the components of your do-file.
