- pwmean var if cond, over(groups) -  gives a correct error message of "if not allowed" (ver 12.1).  
More precisely, "if not implemented in this command". 

The work-round is easy: create a subset of the response var with the -if- condition.  However, there is no apparent logic in -pwmean- not implementing -if- and -in- , so my New Year request to Statacorp is to go through commands and make the syntax consistent where possible.  There are no (apparent) issues against adding features to commands, but list members will have opinions if a command is changed.  There are precedents for change (eg, graph & merge) and version control is always available.
