Dear Robert or Sarah or other Statalisters,

Concerning my last post, error message:
variable naics does not uniquely identify the observations

I looked at my data, a portion of it has
ionumber ioname naics
2303 Maintenance and repair construction 2303
230310 Maintenance and repair of farm and nonfarm residential structures 2303
230320 Maintenance and repair of nonresidential buildings 2303
230330 Maintenance and repair of highways, streets, bridges, and tunnels 2303
230340 Other maintenance and repair construction 2303

given that I have multiple observations sharing the same naics , i ran
into a problem when i run

* save naics to ionumber crosswalk
isid naics, sort
list, noobs sepby(ionumber)
tempfile table1

My question is, should I collapse the observations before isid?
