I agree with the others that a command to output your results directly to an Excel-friendly format (including tab-separated or comma-separated values) is generally the best solution. 

However, if you need to copy tables anyway, you may be able to fix your problem by selecting the table in exactly the right spot in the results window. I don't know if I can describe a generic solution that applies to all types of tables. Start by positioning the cursor immediately to the left of the first character of the first column header, and experiment to see what works.
