I just returned from the APA conference and wanted to respond to Ariel Linden's question. Ariel Linden asked the following:

> Can anyone think of a reason why the new effect size estimator in version
13.0 -esize-, is not programmed to accept weights? I cannot think of a
statistical limitation, but perhaps I am missing something?

The effect size estimates could be calculated easily using weights. However, the confidence intervals are calculated by finding the non-centrality parameters of a non-central t distribution that correspond to the alpha/2 and 1-alpha/2 tail probabilities. I am not aware of any papers that describe how to incorporate weights into this method but I would be grateful to be enlightened.
