Thanks for the info Sergiy! I was trying to avoid using other programs
(ArcGIS etc) so I could keep my analysis all in one consistent script,
but given the oddity of PIP algos (ie, ensuring randomness) coding it
up might not be the best idea. FWIW, I am hoping to randomly
distribute the points within each polygon separately.

I am thinking that Roger Newson's -Rsource- (SSC) might be my best
option then....
