I ran the example using Stata 12 MP running on OSX (v 10.8.3).  I had no issues.  So it is either an issue with (1) how you are copying/pasting/writing the code, (2) an issue with your installation, or (3) some other problem that cannot be identified with the information you've provided.  You can try using -set trace on- to get an idea of where things start to break down and why some random error message is showing up for only you.  You should also make sure you're using the most updated version of GLLAMM and consult the most recent documentation to ensure that your syntax is consistent with the most recent implementation of the program.
