Thanks to Kit Baum a new update of the -seqlogit- package is now
available from SSC. To install it type in Stata -ssc install seqlogit,
replace-

The seqlogit package fits a sequential logit model, a model for a
sequence of steps. An example is education, where someone first
finishes high school or not, given that one finished high school one
either goes to college or not, etc. One of the main aims of this
package is to relate the effects of explanatory variable on each
transition probability to the effect of these variables on the final
outcome. To continue the example: Father's education can influence the
probability of finishing high school and the probability of going to
college given that finished high school. Through these effects on the
transition probabilities it also influences the highest achieved level
of education. An example of such an analysis is given here:

This update adds a new graph that can be produced with
-seqlogitdecomp-, which shows how much each transition contributes to
the effect on the final outcome.

I hope some of you will find this useful,
Maarten
