I believe that this may be due to the lack of a final newline in the file splitglobmac.ado; if the file doesn't end in a newline, add one, and try loading it again.  I also believe that previous versions of Stata on OS X would successfully load an ado-file that did not end in a newline, but I can't say with certainty which one(s).
