Subject   st: Calculating average for a pooled data set

Hi,

I have a pooled data set including year, industry, companyID, sales, R&D etc. and would like to run a regression against the average of Lag 1 and 2 years. eg

Y(t) = a* X((t-1) + (t-2))/2 + b

If my dependent variable is in year 2008, all independent varriables will be the average of 2006 and 2007. I also would like to control for the year and industry dummies.

Please can you help me to find the write stata commands to run the regression.

kind regards
Ozgur Ozdemir
