gen lx1 = L.x1
gen lx2 = L.x2

and try again with lx1 and lx2 as predictors.

Dear Richard,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but doesn't work either.

Dear Statausers,

When I run this command:

tsset dtt
probit y l.x1 l.x2
mfx

I get the following error:

factor variables and time-series operators not allowed r(101);

What could be the reason for no mfx for lagged variables in time- series?
Or am I missing something? Any comments would be appreciated.

-mfx- is old. Assuming you have Stata 11 or higher, see if the new - margins-
command will do what you want.
