Thanks both for useful suggestions.
The center command seems to work great for simple fixed-effect
demeaning and, with some effort, for RE quasi-demeaning.
More complicated quasi-demeaning transformations such as xtregar,
though, seem more challenging.If anyone has suggestions on commands
that might directly produce the transformed variables, or how to alter
the (just for example) xtregar ado-file would also be appreciated.
