Hello Kit

During yor absence from Boston, I uploaded a new package -xglm-, which is described as below on my website, and which I would like to submit for distribution at SSC. It is currently downloadable from the Imperial College FileExchange temporary URL

https://fileexchange.imperial.ac.uk/files/d0ae54a1ae/xglm.zip

and will be deleted on 24/06/2011 13:38:33.

The -xglm- package currently adds one extra estimation result to -glm-, namely the scalar -e(depvarsum)-, giving the sum of the dependent variable in the estimation sample. This result is useful if I do a logistic regression and want to output the results to a -parmby- resultsset complete with the numbers of observations and events. The minimum of the number of events and the number of non-events can be useful as a diagnostic, especially if divided by the number of parameters (calculated from -e(df_m)-) to produce a number of events per parameter, and to warn the user if this ratio is less than 5 (in which case the Central Limit Theorem may not look after the user very well).

Best wishes (and thanks in advance, and hoping you had a nice time away form Boston)

Roger

Updates to the SSC Archive may be delayed during my absence from Boston from today through 18 June. New or updated materials sent during that time will be installed as time and connectivity permit.
