Note also the request in the FAQ @ 3.3:
"The current version of Stata is 11.2. Please specify if you are using an earlier version; otherwise, the answer to your question is likely to refer to commands or features unavailable to you."

If you type -update, all- you will get a free update to Stata 10.2.
This will contain the -dpcomma- option for -destring.
