Dirk,

I think you may want to consider a non-parametric approach to this problem.
Kosuke Imai has written several papers on such an approach. See:

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know how to handle and interpret an inverted u-shaped mediator
in a logistic regression? Or do you maybe have some literature tips?
