Statalist Members:

I have a question which may be rather straightforward.

I would like to use a "select if" statement in xtmixed (random intercept model with cross-sectional data) so that I only utilize clusters (L2 units or groups) containing at least 3 observations (or L1 units). I have about 140 neighborhood groups with anywhere from 1-26 individuals per neighborhood group.

Thus, I would like to have Stata only use data for those neighborhoods with more than 2 individuals.

The "if" option does not appear to be allowed in Stata.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Saul
