For years, I have been able to double-click on a Stata data file, have it automatically open in Stata, have Stata open in the folder where the .dta file resides, and run my profile.do file that contains all of my customizations. This worked up until version 9.2 32-bit running in Windows 7 64-bit professional. I modified the "open" command for the file type .DTA as follows:

This works with Stata 9.2 on Windows 7
C:\Progra~2\STATS\STATA\wstata.exe do c:\progra~2\stats\stata\john\profile.do "%1"

This does not work with Stata 11 64-bit on Windows 7
Action for 'Open' under filetype .dta
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Stats\Stata\Stata-64.exe" do c:\progra~2\stats\stata\john\profile.do "%1"

Is this stored in a different location on the registry? has something else changed?

Regards, John
