Dave - This isn't exactly what you are asking, but in the talk I gave at the summer User's group meeting in 2008, I showed how you can use iteration with a standard estimation command (in this case -xtmixed-) to impose a nonlinear constraint (in this case, a constant CV). You might be able to use the same general approach to fit a nonlinear prediction model with a glm command for count data.

Does Stata have any facilities for generalized nonlinear models? For example, Stata -nl- offers the -log4- model, but this is limited to normal response data. I want this model with count data.
