Yes you can, but you need to reset e(sample) using
-estimates esample:-. See the example below:

*------- begin example ---------
sysuse auto
est drop _all
clear results
reg mpg foreign

tempname abc
est save `abc'
clear results
est use `abc' 
estimates esample:
est store abc
suest abc
*-------- end example ---------
