Sorry about my earlier complaint, as soon as -bootstrap- senses quotes in the first token of your call, it reverts to -bootstrap_8- behavior which apparently did allow your syntax. I was not around at the time, so it took a bit of effort for me to see why this seemingly illegal syntax does not make Stata choke...
