You can also delete the registry entries manually, by using regedit if
it is necessary. Here is a non-exhaustive list.
HKCR\.do
HKCR\.dta
etc...
HKCR\Stata#Do
HKCR\Stata#Data
etc...
HKCU\Software\Stata\
HKLM\Software\Stata\
