Yes. The individual versions of Stata also keep the official Stata Corps programs in places like

C:\Program Files\Stata9\ado
C:\Program Files\Stata10\ado

I suppose you could have problems if your profile.do worked with one version of Stata but not another. You could probably test for the version of Stata being used to get around that. You could probably fiddle around with the -adopath- command if you didn't want all versions using the same c:\ado\ directory.
