A question--will all such alerts also appear on Statalist?

If you wish to receive email when StataCorp makes significant
announcements about new releases, StataPress books, user group
meetings, and/or public training courses, you can now sign up for email alerts at
     http://www.stata.com/customerservice/alerts.html.

You can specify the kind of events you want to be alterted about.
Even if you check all the boxes, we will keep the email to a
minimum, and keep the bodies of the messages short.
