On 24 January David Elliott in

<http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2009-01/msg00914.html>

suggested a FAQ on user-written ados and Stata version. StataCorp kindly
agreed to host such an FAQ and it is now visible at

<http://www.stata.com/support/faqs/lang/version2.html>

The FAQ as posted benefits from discussions on the list by David, Ben
Jann and Richard Williams and from intervention off the list by William
Gould of StataCorp. The nice presentation is due to Annette Fett of
StataCorp.

This is not to be taken as a precedent for anything! If you want an FAQ,
the best way to ensure that is to write it yourself.

(I keep remembering Leo Rosten's book on Yiddish, written because the
author wanted to read it. By the small world principle, Tony Lachenbruch
of this list apparently knew the Rosten family well.)
