The problem is that `i' is being evaluated in the first line and becomes a blank.

The correct form is:

forvalues i = 1/6 {
.
.
.

Hi,
I don't know what is happening with my stata version. I'm trying to run
this simple program....

. program count6
  1. forvalues `i'=1/6 {
  2. display `i'
  3. }
  4. end

. count6
_= invalid name
r(198);

And that error appears from nothing, somebody can help me?

Thanks

Hi Mr. John-Paul Ferguson,

Thanks for your help! It works well. I did exactly as you suggested.

Thanks!
