It looks like has nothing to do with any program. I actually copied
and pasted "di c(current_time)" 110 times (the number of lines in the
original program), and it also took about the same time, 20-23 seconds
in Stata 10 and 2 seconds in Stata 9.
It looks like the speed of reading the immediate programs into memory
differs between versions.
