Try the dialogs -- the more complex ones the better. If you notice
that any elements are missing from the standard dialogs (buttons,
edits), or the dialogs do not show up, please confirm.

Are you using any plugins before calling the Editor?
Try reinstalling Stata from your installation CD (even though it is
not the latest version). Does this help?

Check your profile.do if anything strange is there.
