The results of -egen, fill()- may or may not be what you want, partly
dependent on the number of observations you have.
-egen, fill()- has a presupposition that you will want to specify a
sequence that is consistent with the number of observations you have.
(It tries to guess what pattern you want from an example you give, but
it also tries to fit that pattern to the number of observations.)
