If one is working with program or do file in Stata and wishes to move
to Mata within the program to use a Mata function for a matrix or
vector defined in the Stata program, is this possible?

For example, I produce a vector of changes and wish to calculate the
norm using mata's norm function. If I invoke Mata, it does not appear
that any of my Stata variables and matrices are there. If it is
possible to move between them, what steps must be taken to "move" the
matrix from Stata to Mata?

Thanks very much.

Sincerely,

Tom
